Deploying Applications Directly to BlackDog

After you update, compile, and debug your BlackDog application(s), you need a way to distribute and load the updated package onto BlackDog devices. You can deploy applications directly from a Linux or Windows XP host to a BlackDog.

• scp Utility (Linux and Windows XP) . You can use the scp utility to exchange files between a Linux or Windows XP host and the BlackDog. (Note that on a Windows system, you need Cygwin or similar software in order to run scp.) For example, to use scp to copy myfile from the host to the BlackDog, enter:

  scp myfile root@169.254.0.1:/root/myfile

• winscp Program (Windows XP only). On a Windows XP host, you can also use the winscp GUI program to exchange files between a Windows host and BlackDog.
